Approach

I believe that the art experience should be enjoyable and encourage a fun, non-intimidating atmosphere. I discuss the basic principles of design that are essential to the successful production of any work of art.

I instruct in the methods and materials of watercolor painting and their importance to the work produced. Watercolor is the primary focus, but other mediums can be explored. I teach landscapes, scenes with architecture or animal portraiture – and focus my instruction to each individual's strengths.

Background

I have been teaching watercolor painting since 1995 and have loyal students who still paint with me since that first year.

Details

Lessons are geared toward pre-teen to adult, but younger children will be considered on an individual basis. I strongly encourage that you take at least 4 initial lessons in order to gain a good understanding of the medium. I will provide you with a list of supplies when you contact me for additional information.

Lessons are 2 hours minimum up to 3 hours and I am flexible to accommodate work schedules.

Rates

Rates are $50.00 for a private 2-hour lesson, or $60.00 for 3 hours. Rates are reduced for semi-private classes, and consideration will be given if 4 classes are booked at a time.
